To mark the birth anniversary of Iron Man- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, National Unity day was celebrated today with immense zeal and zest at BVM Udham Singh Nagar. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a pivotal role in India’s freedom- struggle lending his steely strength to nation’s consolidation after independence, in full measure. To acknowledge his relentless efforts and contribution, the whole week beginning with his birth anniversary i.e 31st October is observed as Vigilance Awareness Week nationwide to aware the people about their rights and duties as well as to curb corruption. Various creative activities like slogan writing, poster making depicting the theme of secularism and national unity will be conducted this week. Essay writing competition and group discussions will also be a part of the celebrations to enhance the writing and oratory skills of the students. The theme of Vigilance awareness week 2019 is Integrity: A Way of Life. Its goal is to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in one's life. Mrs. Indu Arora (TGT social science) apprised the students with the vital need to celebrate this occasion as it provides us with an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation. The students also pledged to uphold the nation's unity, integrity and security with collaborative effort.
Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi motivated the students to play an instrumental role to integrate the nation with Unity, promoting patriotism and nationalism among the masses.
